Fandango Signs One Year Agreement With ArcoStream For Trailer Hosting
ArcoStream, a leader in streaming, webhosting, and encoding service solutions, announced today that Fandango, the nation's largest online and phone ticketer to the movies, has signed a one year agreement for ArcoStream to host all of Fandango's movie trailer clips on www.fandango.com.
Fandango has been using the ArcoStream content delivery network to host its online trailers since early 2003. Because of the success of the initial trial period, Fandango will continue to use ArcoStream as its outsource hosting partner for downloadable media through mid-2004.
"ArcoStream helped us deliver our movie trailers to hundreds of thousands of end users," said Walt Williams, CTO, Fandango. "We found that by outsourcing our rich media to a third party, our bandwidth and burst charges were drastically reduced, and the performance of our website in general improved."
"Fandango is well-known as being a destination site for movie-goers," said Todd Loewenstein, CEO, ArcoStream. "Downloadable movie trailers can tax a customer's server and network architecture, while costs mount. By outsourcing streaming and download hosting to ArcoStream, Fandango will realize true cost savings."
